Welcome to Kernick.co.uk - a meeting point for people with an interest in Kernick Genealogy

Welcome to Kernick.co.uk - a meeting point for people with an interest in Kernick Genealogy. I'm now about three years into the "One-Name Study" of the Kernick Surname, and have compiled a database of nearly 900 historical references to Kernicks "at home" and abroard.

I have for a long time known that the name Kernick had Cornish origins, but had not, until a couple of years ago, traced the male line of my family past my grandfather (who died before I was born).

The aim of the site is act as a central meeting point for those interested in the history of the Kernicks - I am currently working on installing a forum. Please contact me if you have unpublished Kernick reseach and family history that you would like to share. I plan to set the ball rolling with my direct line, who lived intially in Perranzabuloe, before a move to St. Ives. I am also currently researching the Kernicks of the St. Teath / Tintagel area.

I have currently added two 'entry' points into the family tree; my family tree shows myself at the bottom, and enbles you to navigate backwards through history... The Kernicks of St. Ives shows Richard Kernick, born 1756, who was the first person of that name to move to St. Ives.

Please come back soon, by which time I hope the site will be a little more complete; in the meantime, please contact me with details of your Genealogical research and your own Kernick Ancestors.

Regards,

Richard Kernick
